CHULA VISTA, California - Team Hoyt shooters were on their A-game at the SoCal Showdown, taking home all the Gold Medals and 9 out of 12 total medals.

Hoyt Pro, Matt Sullivan, beat the top ranked archer in the world to win gold in men’s compound, making it two in a row after his gold medal performance last month at Gator Cup. Hoyt Pro, Mike Schloesser, joined Sullivan on the podium, winning bronze.

In the women’s compound division, Linda Ochoa-Anderson continued her dominance this season by qualifying number one and knocking off the competition through all elimination rounds, taking Gold. With yet another gold medal, Linda has great momentum heading into the World Cup in Salt Lake City.

The men’s and women’s recurve divisions were completely dominated by Hoyt shooters. The young up-and-comer Jack Williams won his first USAT gold, defeating Hoyt Teammate, Brady Ellison (silver) while Joony Kim claimed Bronze. On the women’s side, Mackenzie Brown defeated last year’s champion LaNola Shepherd to win Gold. Casey Kaufhold, another young shooter making a big impact, beat Khatuna Lorig to claim the bronze, for her second trip to the podium in her first year shooting as a senior.
