Back-to-Back at the NFAA Indoor Championships

Just a week after a strong performance won him his first US National Indoor title, Steve “Big Cat” Anderson continued his winning streak by securing the NFAA Indoor National Championship title in Men’s Compound. This back-to-back performance comes on the heels of the World Field Championship he won last summer, and may warrant a doctor’s visit to check for burns and singed eyebrows. The man is on fire.

The NFAA Indoor Championship was by no means a walk in the park. Steve was joined by 15 other archers who shot perfect 600 120x games in the shoot off, including Hoyt teammates Tate Morgan and Mike Schloesser. Perfect execution through the intense final was enough to secure Gold for the “Big Cat”.

Brady Ellison also earned the Back-to-Back Champion designation, dominating in the Recurve Division with a 600 114x .

Erika Jones had an impressive weekend as well, nearly securing back-to-back Gold, herself. After tying for first place with a 600 118x, Erika ultimately walked away from the shoot off with Silver.

In addition to Team Hoyt’s success in the pro divisions, Junior standout and World Record holder Carson Sapp of Georgia capped off an impressive indoor season with a National Championship of his own. This member of George Ryals’ “Mighty Hornets” shot a perfect 600 120x in the Young Adult Male Division, tying the NFAA Indoor record for his class.
