The anticipation was high as the most decorated and successful archers in the world gathered for the World Archery 2015 Outdoor World Championship in Copenhagen, Denmark.

In what many will remember as the least shooter friendly weather they’ve ever encountered, from day one it seemed to be anyone’s event. Rain, hail and some of the strongest winds witnessed at any tournament, shooters endured and battled through for their opportunity to be titled Champion.

After several days grueling weather, the archery gods smiled down on the city of Copenhagen and the sun came out from behind the clouds to welcome the finalist and a sold out venue of spectators for the final two days of the tournament.

Saturday’s final was dedicated to all compound events and the archers put on an amazing display of talent and ability. Team Hoyt came out of the gate strong, with the all Hoyt Korean Women's team winning the bronze medal, followed by an all Hoyt Iran Men’s team, winning their very first Gold Medal ever.

As if things weren’t going well enough, Hoyt’s Sara Lopez, who shot the highest overall qualifying score of the tournament, added yet another medal to her collection, winning the Bronze. KIM Yun Hee (KOR), who had competed in both the women’s compound and mixed team medal matches already, continued her incredible showing and finished off with a dominating performance in the Gold medal match, winning her 2nd Gold Medal of the day.

In the men’s finals, Rajat Chauhan (IND) faced off against the home town favorite, Stephan Hansen. After an incredibly close match that came down to the final arrows, Rajat proudly claimed his silver medal to cap off an impressive day for all Hoyt shooters.

Beautiful weather welcomed the archers the following day, Sunday, and the competition continued.

Each country fought to win their matches as they entertained yet another full venue and as the tournament came to a close, the spotlight fell on the final Gold Match of the tournament.

Team Hoyt’s Rick Van der Ven (NLD) faced off against Woojin KIM. In what many would consider the most exciting and thrilling round of the tournament, a close matched ended with Woojin KIM winning the Gold and Rick Van der Ven winning Silver.

As always, World Archery put on a spectacular event and we cannot thank them and all the archers enough for such a successful outcome. Congratulations to all countries and competitors as well as the newly proclaimed champions of the world.
