Pro Staff

Patrick bought his first bow ( Hoyt Magnatech ) from Magnum Archery in 2000 at the age of 27 to go hunting.  For the first 10 years he only hunted with Hoyt's taking over 200 big game animals and having no interest in the target side of the sport.  Then in 2010 he shot his first archery tournament.  A 3D IBO competition and the bug bit hard and Patrick began progressing into target archery.  Where he has had incredible success!  He has been a member of the South African National Archery Team since 2012 and joined the Hoyt Pro Staff Family in 2014.  He also enjoys fishing, hunting and golfing.  Patrick lives in South African with his wife Gerda, also a member of the Hoyt Pro Staff Team, and their 2 children Alisha (16) and Wian (14).  Wian is also an archer who will be representing South Africa later in 2017 at the Junior World Championships in Argentina in recurve.

Patrick is the Managing Director of AFGRI Equipment.  The largest John Deere dealership in teh southern hemisphere with 40 branches in 6 countries and 2 continents.

Best piece of advice for upcoming archers?

Archery has only 3 rules:

Rule 1:   Aim in the middle

Rule 2:  Release it in the middle

Rule 3: if you succeed in achieving rule one and two DO NOT BECOME COCKY!
