History was made last weekend in Antalya, Turkey as Evran Cagiran (left) became the first Turkish archer to win gold on home soil. Antalya marked the 3rd and final stage of the outdoor World Cup season, and culminated in an all-Turkish gold medal match between Evran and teammate Semet Can Yakali (right) where the former walked away triumphant.
World #1, Sara Lopez, continued her gold medal streak by winning the compound women’s individual event, becoming the first female archer in history to win every individual outdoor World Cup compound event. Sara has not lost an individual match at a world event since Copenhagen 2015.
Sara and Teammate Camilo Cardona secured gold in the mixed team event.
2013 World Champion Lee Seungyun of Korea, who won the recurve men’s event last year, stood atop the recurve men’s podium again this year after also winning gold with his teammates in the morning session.
Strong team medal performances by the US and Mexico send both teams into the 2016 Rio Olympics on a good note.
Tan Ya-Ting (TPE) secured a medal in the recurve women’s division and will be competing in the World Cup final.
Team Hoyt congratulates all medalists with their outstanding performances and
