Hoyt Archery is seeking an experienced Composite Development Engineer to join their Product Engineering Team.   

Composite Development Engineer

Design, research and develop new composite processes: Leads strategic composite process development based on executive management, marketing, manufacturing and financial input.   Leads continuous improvement of composite process design with respect to quality, cost, manufacturability, and perceived customer value.  Creates clear, accurate engineering documentation including process specifications and drawings.  

Design, research and develop new products: Apply engineering principles and engineering theory to the design and testing of new products.  Implements engineering process of conceptualization, developing prototypes, testing, and perfecting to designs, with focus on controlling costs and insuring high product quality.  Creates clear and accurate product engineering documentation, including tolerance specifications and detailed dimension drawings.  Oversees the testing and evaluation of product function related to performance, durability and safety characteristics.   Performs specialized testing such as high speed video, accelerometer and data acquisition when needed.  Assists in new product implementation by working with manufacturing, production and purchasing to ensure process readiness and training of factory personal is complete.

Manages projects from design to production: Manage all assigned projects to ensure smooth transition from design to production.  Responsible to identify and develop a production plan for each assigned project which meets Hoyt’s required production schedule.  Develop timeline and report on status of projects weekly to engineering management.  Responsible for communication and support of all production requirements for each assigned project with all internal departments as well as external vendors until first production part has been approved and is ready for sale to customer.

Provides engineering support to other departments: Develops new manufacturing processes or tooling as required to support the product needs.  Trains production personnel on process requirements.

Quality Assurance: Through interaction with the Quality team and manufacturing areas, performs problem analysis and develops solutions for warranty and quality related issues.   Continually support Hoyt’s quality assurance program providing necessary dispositions, investigations, design and manufacturing support of tools required to meet quality requirements. Follow Hoyt’s established inventory procedures to ensure accurate inventory levels.  Works all scheduled hours up to seven days a week including overtime; adheres to all safety policies, procedures and rules; and adheres to the company’s Tobacco Free policy.  Performs all other duties as assigned by management.


Training and Education:
